The Malta Union of Teachers refers to a press-statement issued by the Secretariat for Catholic Education confirming that the Right of Appeal of a teacher contesting the post of Assistant Head of School is being denied on the pretext that this right is not enshrined in the relative Collective Agreement.

The union says it will take industrial action if the matter is not resolved.

According to the union, an applicant for the post of Assistant Head who failed the interview by a single point should be allowed to appeal the result.

Church authories are insisting that the right to appeal only applies to the post of Head Master and not to other posts.
