Mrs Michelle Muscat, wife of Prime Minister Joseph Muscat welcomed Mrs Geertrui Windels-Van Rompuy, the wife of His Excellency Mr Herman Van Rompuy, the President of the European Council as she paid a visit to the Hypogeum in Paola, a Unesco World Heritage site.

Mrs Van Rompuy was greeted at the Hypogeum by the Mayor of Paola, Roderick Spiteri and the Councillor for Culture, Bernard Lynch.

The President of the European Council will meet the President of Malta, His Excellency Dr George Abela and following a meeting with Prime Minister Joseph Muscat at the Auberge De Castilee, he will address Parliament.
