During the current saga concerning illegal immigration I feel as if I am living 42 years ago i.e. when the then Prime Minister Dom Mintoff soon after taking office, started negotiations with Britain and Nato concerning the revision of the defence agreement. The PN's stand then was as it is now, censoring the government for its lack of skill and tactics when dealing with the big boys. When the following March we had the end result, needless to say they had to fill their mouths with water. The way that things are developing it appears that in the current situation, much more tangible results are going to be achieved; we will then see what the wise guys at Pieta' would then have to say. No wonder that the PN slogan for the last general election was that there was no need for change as surely they i.e.the PN never change.
