“Christian democrats refer to me ‘ġej dal-liba’"

EU Commissioner for Health John Dalli told the PN Executive Committee last Tuesday: “This is how our Christian Democrats refer to me by adding BA on to my name and surname so that J Dalli BA reads like ‘ġej dal-liba’.”

Dalli also said that the quarters from which campaigns have been waged against him originate within the offices of the Transport Authority and Dar l-Ewropa in St Paul’s Street, Valletta.

In his intervention from Brussels Dalli referred to the way in which he has been persecuted by persons within the PN who pass on information against him to the Labour Party to try and damage his reputation. He said these campaigns against him, his family and his close collaborators are still going on.

Dalli said campaigns were organised against him to force him to resign from his ministerial post, to embarrass him during the European parliamentary hearing to become EU Commissioner and during the last leadership contest for the party this year when they though he would challenge Gonzi as leader.

He said that on 11 July 2012 he refused a request by Richard Cachia Caruana to issue a statement against the motion presented by MP Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando calling on the PN to expel RCC from the party. The following day, at 5.00am, there was an attempt to hack into his private email. Dalli said that the groups against him are very well organized.

In the only intervention by Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi during the testimony of Dalli, Gonzi asked Dalli whether there were any indications that Richard Cachia Caruana had anything to do with the hacking and with the campaigns against him.

Dalli said that Gonzi recently criticized Pullicino Orlando’s motion for not specifying factually what Cachia Caruana was being accused of. He said that when Gonzi made him resign from Minister, Gonzi did not tell him why and what he was being investigated about, even if it then transpired that all the allegations were false.

He said that he knows a lot of information that can damage the party but he keeps it to himself even if I continue to be attacked, together with my family and collaborators.

This is how the party has rewarded me and all those like me who have worked hard to introduce noble values in Malta.

Dalli told the PN’s Executive Committee: “You have smashed the party. The party has been bled dry. Many Nationalists feel homeless. You have brought the party to this point.”

Pullicino Orlando asked Dalli during the videoconference: “Would you say that there are links between those who attack you and Cachia Caruana?” Dalli said that there are strong links, but “you are not going to find any written and signed instructions where he tells them what to do when they attack people like me and Pullicino Orlando and others.”

Watch John Dalli speaking to journalists about the backstabbing against him last Friday.

My Dear Fellow, Welcome to the club. Unlike you, I am an ordinary citizen. But like you I was given the same title and more just for speaking out against environmental abuse.

J Dalli BA - well a very appropriate name indeed for this sour PN leadership contender so full of himself he acutally thought he was about to win. Well done to whoever came up with this excellent description of despicable excuse for a Nationalist. For, let's face it, you have to be a "Gej DalliBA" to come up with hacking allegations (later withdrawn) right at the time when the party is about to lose its parliamentary majority. Only a "Gej Dalliba" from Qormi would stab the prime minister in the back in this way. Kif nghidu bil-Malti, Sur Dalli, "Qazziztilna l-bajt!" Imissek tishi.

WITHOUT A DOUBT THE PN MIGHT REFER TO JOHN DALLI BY THE MOST VULGAR WORD IN THE MALTESE LANGUAGE,BUT MALTASTAR HAS SLIPPED UP BY PUBLISHING THE WORD IN FULL,TOTALLY DISGUSTING I THINK.

The adding of 'BA' to the name of John Dalli by certain fanatic Nationalists is most interesting.

Years ago I learned that during the years when the PN was in favour that Malta be part of Italy. Even when the Italian dictator Benito Mussolini was in power.

Fanatic Nationalist used to add to the name of ITALIA. The letter 'V' between the lettets 'I' and 'T' to reads 'M'. And a 'DASH' on top of the letter 'I' to reads 'T'.

Thus it will reads 'MALTA'.

That's the political fanatism of certain Nationalists.

Wisq nibza li il- P.L. fil gvern jekk mhux sa jqabbad lil San Mikiel biex isaffi u jnaqqi dan il- hmieg mill- pajjiz, sejjer jirrokka. Nispera ghal Malta taghna li jien zbaljat u li dan ma hux il-Kaz.

John Dalli has a very old surname. Maybe he doesn't know that there is a Cardinal with that surname Bishop Emmanuele Delli the patriarch of Baghdad in Iraq from the Caldean Catholic community. the difference from Delli to Dalli is that when this surname came to Malta with Christian refugees in the Middle ages it was Arabised and the E was changed to A.
Those in Malta who speak with the A (bil-pulit)are of Classic Arabic influence while those who speak with the E are of Levantine (Christian) Arabic decendancy.
Many think that elit people (puliti) has a special right to be rude (Hamalli).

Pat, il-Gonz will not take action against the powerful clique that has usurped the PN. He just does not have the backbone. Wasn't that the main characteristic which made EFA and RCC choose him? They knew that Demarco and Dalli were their own man, and would not take any bull. They needed someone in the seat till Beppe was groomed to take over, and RCC would remain in control, out of sight, pulling all strings. After all, RCC's allies claim he is a complete control freak. But these wise guys did not reckon il-Gonz so weak, especially further weakened after being hit with the worldwide financial storm of 2007/2008. The very slim margin they managed to wrest during last elections was the fatal straw that broke the camel's back. Il-Gonz has been limping ever since, and with EFA having become frail, and RCC concerned with EU affairs, there was no one to prop him up, with the consequence that he fell flat on his face. To Malta's chagrin!

I find this unacceptable and I honestly hope that the PM will take action against ALL those involved - including those at Dar Ewropa who should be there to assist the Commissioner, rather than involved in such cowardly actions.

These individuals appear to get a kick out of creating these acronyms: recently a friend told me about an acronym reading MGX. I wonder whether the man involved (who occupied a very important position in the country) knows about it!
