Cini ends hunger strike

Tuesday, 26 Jul 2011, 15:20

Emanuel Cini, from Cospicua who had been on hunger strike since July 18, has called off his protest. After meeting Prime Minister Gonzi.

According to The Times, Gonzi visited Cini yesterday evening at his house.

For the past week, Cini was calling for the resignation of Transport Minister Austin Gatt after the transport fiasco and the termination of a bus service linking Cospicua to Marsascala, a route Emanuel Cini used regularly to get treatment at Razzett tal-Hbiberija.

The route is being reconsidered again by Transport Malta after a series of complains from residents in Cottonera and Mr Cini’s action.
