A 55 year old man is in danger of losing his life after he was involved in a crash in Xewkija on Saturday afternoon.

The police were informed of the accident at 4.30 p.m. Upon arriving on the scene in Triq l-Imgarr, Xewkija, the police were confronted with a crash between an Isuzu KB pick-up and a Triumph Boneville T100 motorcycle, with the Triumph also crashing into a wall.

While the 55 year old man was driving the motorcycle, the pick-up was being driven by a 32 year old man from Kercem. A 27 year old man, also from Kercem, was a passenger in the pick-up.

The Triumph driver was taken to Gozo General Hospital where his condition was deemed critical. He was later transferred to Mater Dei Hospital. The police did not specify whether the two men in the pick-up suffered any injuries.

Investigations are ongoing.
