In her haste to attack and criticise anything related to the Partit Laburista, Daphne Caruana Galizia mistook London fashion blogger Lara Boffa's identity to another Lara Boffa who starred in the PL campaign video "Malta Taghna Lkoll".
Expressing her discontempt, Lara Boffa, the unfortunate target of Daphne Caruana Galizia, wrote in her fashion blog:
"I never associated myself with any political party, partly because this is not the place to do it and also because I genuinely have no interest in doing so, especially now that I live and work abroad. I would expect better research before publishing certain posts though, particularly since they could only harm what someone has been working on for almost two years."
Once Daphne Caruana Galizia realised her mistake, the fashion bloggers' comments on the post were deleted, and so was the entire post some time afterwards.
Daphne Caruana Galizia is being given a leading role in the election campaign of the PN and she has been assigned work related to the media.
PN MP Franco Debono has been calling Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi "Lawrence DCG Gonzi" and referring to Daphne as "Daphne Cachia Caruana", to highlight her association with GonziPN and Richard Cachia Caruana, one of the main PN strategists and former Maltese Representative to the EU. The latter was ousted by a vote of no confidence in Parliament last June, when PN MP Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando voted with the Opposition in its motion against Cachia Caruana and PN MP Jesmond Mugliett abstained. Daphne Caruana Galizia remains a protegé of Cachia Caruana.
