‘In Gozo’, the new publication that is aiming to communicate the plethora of arts and culture activities on the island of Gozo, this month celebrates its 1st anniversary.

“Under no illusions, during the past year, this project was viewed as a pilot concept, which together with the 1st edition of the annual cultural calendar gave life to this idea. The eight page leaflet acts as a listing for established cultural and arts activities taking place in Gozo during the month, although the team involved at the Gozo Culture Office in the Ministry for Gozo, is firmly committed to seek out and encourage input from less well known artists and cultural activity organisers.” The Ministry said.

‘In Gozo’ is a publication which circulates, in twelve issues a year amongst Gozitans, Maltese visitors and foreign tourists on holiday in Gozo.

The Gozo Culture Office said that it views this publication as having the potential to act as a cultural portal for Gozo. There are no hard and fast rules as to what constitutes art and culture, however people who are choosing to express their creativity should be celebrated. “The diversity of talent in Gozo stems from so many people that quietly practice and perfect their creative skills without any platform; be it fine artists, graphic designers and illustrators, village bands, bedroom music producers, wordsmiths, photographers and crafts people to mention a few.”
