That Daphne Caruana Galizia is rude and vulgar is a known fact. Whenever she calls people crass and ill-mannered she must be giving a description of her own personality. However, to post comments such as the ones being re-produced below, on the announcement of the death of any prominent person is inciting hatred. This is a criminal act and she is an insult to humanity. Her provocation should not remain unchecked.
Her comments do not even warrant a reply. Her views on the announcement of the death of Dom Mintoff are irrelevant.
This is what this woman disgustingly wrote:
GLORY, GLORY, ALLELLUIAH…….but quite frankly, the saints will probably go marching OUT once he walks in. How very considerate of Mr Mintoff to make this one of my best birthdays ever. Now excuse me while I rush out to celebrate.
I don’t speak ill of the dead and ordinarily I would consider any such behaviour to be totally crass, but in this case I have to make an exception. This is the man without whom my life and the lives of those around me would have been completely different. Malta would have been completely different. It would have been so much better.
Dom Mintoff was appalling and hateful, an absolute sociopath, Malta’s Muammar Gaddafi, and let’s not be hypocritical and pretend otherwise just because he’s finally popped his worn-out, miserable clogs. He should count himself lucky he died in his bed and not like his godawful friend across the water, which is what he truly deserved.
Let’s leave the hypocrisy and the panegyrics and the false rewriting of history to the Mintoffjani and the mealy-mouthed. Of course, this probably means that his weasel of a daughter will be elected on a rush of sympathy and misplaced sentiment. But we’ll worry about that later.
In reference to the article about Dom Mintoff in The Times, D.Caruana Galizia referred to his death as ‘The Death That Took Too Long To Happen’ and this is what she wrote:
“Note that there is absolutely no reference to the consequences of the actions of this ‘leading personality’, nor to the manner in which the ‘major developments’ marked Malta and Gozo for the worse. Mintoffians will read that positively, but all others – well, the ones with a few brains, at least, and certainly not the wittering idiots on their Facebook walls with their RIPs and their ‘he did lots of good’ – will read between the lines to the subtext: that the man was a total sociopathic prick who did untold harm to Malta.
Neat.
Fortunately for me, I don’t have to be diplomatic or statesmanlike or even a force for unity and peace with Laburisti and the Mintoffiani hodor and their awful descendants who put him where he was to do what he did.
May he bugger off to hell and may even Lucifer slam the gates closed in his ghastly face and ask who the Godforsaken dwarf is who’s cluttering up his doorstep”.

Two, the Commissioner of Police should take the necessary steps to bring her to book. I feel that these comments by one of your adherent or fanatic supports and columnist has gone way to far from what is acceptable in our society and so far we have not seen you lift a finger or utter a word of condemnation for what is going on.
This in my opinion only means that you approve of what is being written. Why? is this interpretation right? Is this the way forward on the eve of an Election? Don’t you think that this form of provocation is unacceptable? Is this the lever that you are seeking to try and go for an election on the cry that PL is violent?
I honestly feel that such tactics have been tried in the past and occasionally the bait was swallowed, but rest assured that the People are not as stupid as one may think, our citizens could see the wood and also the forest.
So if decency is so close to your heart you should disassociate your self from what is being done and put a stop on it. Also note that Political hatred is a crime like any other form of hatred. Also instigation to start some form of violence within the community is also a crime. I would suggest that such things should be investigated.
You do not need to go to the Police to start such investigations but the Police have a duty to maintain peace in our society therefore they also have the obligation to ensure that the peace within our community is secured. so it is there obligation to also intervene and investigate.
