The Gozo Tourism Association would like to commend once again the initiative announced  end of last  week  by the Malta International Airport,  to waive the landing fees for all scheduled airlines flying to Malta for the upcoming shoulder and winter  months.

The Malta International Airport, as a major stakeholder in the tourism industry, through this initiative will be effectively enhancing the competitiveness of the Maltese islands as a tourism destination during the winter period.

Access especially to small islands like Gozo,  plays a major role in the sustainable success of the tourism industry and the Malta International Airport decision to further incentives the airlines will stimulate tourist arrivals to the islands during the low seasons.

The Gozo Tourism Association appeals to other transport providers especially those operating to and from Gozo, to  take up the example of the Malta International Airport and come up with initiatives and schemes for the winter months in order to generate tourism numbers to the smaller island.

"Making Gozo competitively accessible will bear results," GTA said.
