Silver Palette Art Exhibition and Competition

The Silver Palette Art Exhibition & Competition organized by the Malta Society of Arts Manufactures and Commerce is held between 9th and 30th March, 2012, Monday to Friday 9am till 7.00pm and Saturday 9am till noon.

Censu Fenech with his sculpture work ‘Dynamic Form in Space’ won the 1st prize for category B and the overall winner for the Silver Palette Art Competition & Exhibition. While Jesmond Dalmas with his work ‘Pepp’ won the 1st prize in category A. The Competition is organized by the Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce and is sponsored by Middle Sea Insurnace plc., Valletta Fund Management and Vee Gee Bee Arts, Winston and Newton and Curan D’Arche of Valletta and San Gwann. Curator of this exhibition was the art critic Mr. E.V. Borg.

Hon. Mention in Category A went to the two artist, David Camileri Kleine with his painting ‘Our Heritage’ and Jennings Falzon with ‘Untitled’. Whilst in Category B went to Godfrey Xuereb with his sculpture Blue Grotto Beauty and Anthon Lucian Cuchi with his sculpture Adam and Eve.

In all 55 artists submitted 77 works of art which varied between sculptures in limestone, wood, earthenware, ceramics and paintings in oil, acrylic, watercolour, pastels, coloured pencils and mixed media.

The exhibition is held at the Palazzo de La Salle,  219, Republic Street Valletta.
