Govt to strengthen sports tourism

Parliamentary Secretary Stefan Buontempo said that the Maltese government is committed to strengthen its sport tourism industry.

Dr Buontempo was speaking during the opening of the European Judo Competitions taking place at the Cottonera Sports Complex on Saturday morning.

The competitions, which have been organized by the Malta Judo Federation, boast no less than 19 participating countries. Among them are Finland, UK, Russia and Germany.

Dr Buontempo pledged the government’s help to athletes from a variety of sport disciplines to be able to compete at an international level.

I think it will be a great idea if the government organizes cultural tours and take tourists to visit our quaint old villages around Malta and Gozo. I'm sure many will enjoy that part of Malta and Gozo's history.
