Water and electricity tariffs; bureaucracy in Government departments; lack of incentives and schemes for the retail sector of SMEs and the lack of specialised training in this sector are the major obstacles for people in business.

This is what Manuel Peresso said during the Labour Party Leader’s visit to Eurosport, in Birkirkara.

Dr. Joseph Muscat explained that the Labour Party has a serious plan that will lead to a substantial reduction in water and electricity rates. This is a realistic plan that has been costed and that will be to be benefit of all families and businesses.

The Labour leader also spoke about the efforts that a new Government will undertake to minimise or eliminate bureaucracy. Joseph Muscat said that the PL in government has pledged that it will reduce bureaucratic procedures by 25% and it will deliver on its promise.

Joseph Muscat recalled that the points mentioned by Mr. Peresso were the same concerns expressed by the CEOs of three large companies operating in Malta. Dr. Muscat also mentioned the Labour Party’s proposal for the introduction of a Family Business Act, which will facilitate transfer of ownership between members of the same family.

The Labour leader also referred to four major projects in sports that a new Labour Government will launch. These include the regeneration of the National Swimming Pool; an indoor pool; a shooting range and a track for motor-sports.

PL candidates Luciano Busuttil and Nikita Zammit Alamango were present during the Dr. Muscat's visit to Eurosport.
