The ‘Ghajn tal- Hasselin’ (the washing fountain) was uncovered during the rehabilitation work on the Marsaxlokk waterfront on 20 May 2010.
The fountain was buried when the main road was built.
This particular washing fountain was constructed in 1876 and had cost the Government of the day a sum equivalent to around 50 euro.
