100 Years in Style for Alfa Romeo
Philip Schembri 06 April 2010 08:21
Alfa Romeo, the Italian automobile manufacturer synonymous with the epitome of Italian style and beauty on wheels, is this year celebrating 100 years as a luxurious performance benchmark brand within the automotive industry.

Celebration preparations are underway across the entire globe and of course Malta is no exception! Local agents UCIM Co. Ltd. will be commemorating this special event by hosting an incredible driving skills exhibition at the Hal Far Karting Race Track on the 5th and 6th of June. Patroning this event in conjunction with UCIM Co. Ltd. is another company closely affiliated with Biscione badge: the Italian Centro Internazionale Guida Sicura of Ex. F1 driver Andrea De’ Adamic, who will be sending to Malta a prominent professional driving champion, to showcase the driving dynamics of sensational Alfa models at this exhibition.

“We want Malta to participate in the celebrations that Alfa Romeo will be organizing throughout the world and we feel that celebrating this milestone with our loyal and proud Alfa Romeo owners and enthusiasts in action on a track is the best way we can reward them for their passion towards this brand,” states Francesca Mamo, Managing Director of UCIM Co. Ltd.

“The lucky participants in this event will have the opportunity to test their driving capabilities on board the latest model of the Alfa MiTo range – the Quadrifoglio Verde. Contestants will savor the experience of being briskly chauffeured around a track in race-attack mode by a prestigious international name in the world of motorsports and witness first hand the harmonic connection that can be established between a capable driver and an Alfa Romeo! In addition, this driving champion will also assess the Alfisti’s skill at the wheel, their dynamic driving techniques to remain in control, as well as learn how to read and interpret the road feedback that only an Alfa can transmit to its driver. We often hear international motorsport authorities speak of Alfa Romeo’s as automobiles that you don’t just sit in but actually wear: at the Alfa Romeo Experience, the Maltese Alfisti will have the opportunity to indulge in this understanding first-hand while assisted by the tuition of a champion at the helm of breathtaking Alfa examples! It will be an event not to be missed by not only local Alfisti but any driver in Malta”, added Ms Mamo.

UCIM Co. Ltd. is inviting the public to register its interest in participating in this event by filling in a participation request form that can be obtained from the Alfa Romeo showroom or the Waldorf Auto Service Center, both located in Valley Road Msida. There are a limited number of hot-seats available and priority will be always be given to current Alfa Romeo owners servicing their car at UCIM’s service centre as well as anyone who purchases an Alfa in 2010 until event date arrives. The general public who don’t qualify under the above criteria can also request participation in this event by filling in the same application form. In such cases any hot-seats still available after the former preferential criteria are satisfied, will be granted on a first come first served basis.More information about Alfa Romeo and the forthcoming commemorative events may be acquired by phone on 21 492310 or via email alfaromeo@ucim.com.mt.
