The Sliema Residents Association is continuing to criticise the Sliema Local Council.
The Association said that for the Council street lights are far more important than the health and quality of life of Sliema residents.
This claim was made after the Council continued ignoring proposals which were submitted to it regarding new systems to analyse the air quality of the locality.
In the same statement, the Residents Association said that they seriously doubt whether both MEPA and Transport Malta are going to be able to reach the environmental targets established in the plan regarding air quality.
The Sliema Residents Association claim that the level of air pollution in the Sliema area eceeds the limits established by the European Union.
