PN Councillor's involvement in bribery allegations causes stir in PN circles

The PN Councillor, Frans Catania’s, involvement in allegations of bribery connected with the issue of licences has cause a stir within the Nationalist Party’s canvassing circles.
According to inside sources, the case created a lot of bickering between deputies and canvassers from the second district.
The sources stated that Catania used to be a canvasser for Minister Carm Mifsud Bonnici however he got rid of him.
Catania however still remained active within the Nationalist Party, and started working for other PN deputies and candidates.
Lately, Catania was very close to the deputy Stephen Spiteri, who has a stronghold on Zabbar.
Frans Catania is a prominent figure for the Nationalist Party in Zabbar, as besides the fact that he is a PN councillor, he is also involved in running the sectional committee.
Catania is currently caught in the middle of investigations about alleged bribery in the licence department, after reports were made about various irregularities.
