Britain is now not only the country of unthinkable coalitions. It is nowalso a country where a prominent Labour exponent is coming down hard, not on single parent mums, Gonzi style, but on the army of young dads who don't want to take responsibility for their children.
Frank Field Labour MP may yet finally shift the responsibility and the labelling where it at least half belongs, into the laps of young males.
Research has consistenly shown that most female single parents would rather live as a couple but can't find the men who can or want to be dads in any real sense. Frank Field talks poignantly of a whole generation of "aimless young men" and says this is where the State should start to focus it's efforts and its reform of welfare.
This also rings true locally where hundreds of young women are finding a party and gang culture of young men who want no commitment and ties either.
