Three injured in Paola crash

One young man was seriously injured while two further passengers were slightly hurt in a traffic accident in Triq Għajn Dwieli, Paola at about 14.45h.

A 58-year-old man from Bormla driving a Peugeot 306, lost control of his vehicle, hit the pavement, an electricity pole and crashed into a wall.

Two men aged 18 and 30 and a girl aged 15, all from Bormla were also in the car during the crash.

The 18-year-old man was seriously injured but is not in a critical condition. The girl suffered slight injuries while  the 20-year-old man's condition is still being treated at Mater Dei hospital.

Members of the Civil Protection Department were called on site to assist in the extraction of the passengers from wrecked vehicle.

Police investigations are ongoing.
