The anti-austerity Social Democrats appear to be on course to win the most votes in Lithuania's election, according to preliminary results after around 80 per cent of votes have been counted in Sunday's second round of voting.
The opposition Social Democrats have mustered around 38 seats in the country's 141-seat Parliament, which could be enough to form the next government.
The ruling conservative party led by Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius came in second with 32 seats, according to unofficial results.
