Charlo Debono is driver of the month for September

The Malta Racing Club continued to recognize promising drivers with the driver of the month award which for the month of September was sponsored by the Pegasus Bar & Bistro situated at the Race Track.

30-year old Charlo Debono drove his first race on 21^st May 2000 with Vosco de Clairval but had to wait until 17^th February 2002 to register his first victory with Dalayrac in the Eurosport Championship Final for Class A/B. During that season he won a further 6 races with this horse enabling him also to be declared Champion Young driver for the 2001/2002 season. 

Up till this weekend Charlo’ had won a total of 77 races with his best season so far being last year finishing 5^th in the Champion Driver classification when he won 19 races.

In September Charlo drove 6 races from which he registered 2 victories whilst finishing twice in 2^nd place and once 3^rd.

The presentation to Charlo Debono was held last Friday evening at the Marsa Race Track.
