The Young Artists Foundation in Hong Kong, China is currently organising the 1st International Children’s Painting Festival. The aim of this festival is to strengthen international art and cultural connection as well as to provide children and young people with the opportunity to share artistic experiences and to express their creativity through painting. The theme for this competition is that of Culture therefore children and young people are being asked to submit paintings of their own culture.

The competition is open to all children between the ages of 4 and 18 from all over the world. Each participant may not submit more than one painting, and each painting must be the work of one young artist only. The entries received will be divided into three categories according to age: 4-8, 9-12, and 13-18. For each category there will be 10 medallist winners, 100 Honourable mentions and 100 certificates of exhibition.

Paintings should be in A-3 size either in horizontal or vertical format without framing. The paintings should be 2 dimensional and any technique can be used.

All young people, living in Malta and Gozo, interested in participating in this important event are required to submit their drawings to the Office of the Commissioner for Children, 16/18, Tower Promenade, St. Lucija, SLC 1019 by not later than Friday 9th November, 1.00p.m.

The drawings will then be sent by the Office of the Commissioner for Children to the organisers in China. On a separate sheet of paper, all participants should write the title of the picture as well as their name, age, date of birth, address and contact telephone number.
