According to international media reports the former Arsenal striker Francis Jeffers is in talks about a possible move to Floriana.  Jeffers who started his career at Everton moved to arsenal in a 10million pound deal in 2001.

Italian press reports suggest that AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri could be one match away from getting the sack. Milan lost the derby match 1-0 against Inter and there is speculation that if they lose to Lazio on October 20 then Allegri could be out of a job.

After an eight hour trip Malta’s players arrived in Prague for their World Cup qualifier against the Czech Republic. Coach Pietro Ghedin is to hold a press conference later today.

As Tour de France legend Lance Armstrong’s doping scandal deeps the United States anti-Doping Agency say Arnstrong’s team ran “the most sophisticated, professionalized and successful doping programme the sport has ever seen”. Armstrong has been stripped of the seven Tour titles he won.

Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso remains in confident mood about his chances of winning the Formula 1 title. Alonso had a 37 point lead but that has now been reduced to just 4 points by Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettal after the Ferrari driver failed to finish in two races.

Honda have threatened to pull out of Moto GP if new engine limiting systems are introduced in 2014.
