Malta’s coach Pietro Ghedin  has named his squad ahead of their World Cup qualifier against the Czech Republic in Prague.With several key players absent through injury or suspension, Ghedin has included some new faces, among them Hamrun Spartans striker Terrence Vella.There is a surprise call-up for Hibernian’s mid-fielder Aryton Azzopardi who has not yet started a match in the league.

England boss Roy Hodgson says he believes any issues between the Football Association and Ashley Cole have been settled. The Chelsea defender apologized to the FA after sending a message on Twitter last week. However Hodgson has not yet said if he will include Cole in England’s squad for their World Cup qualifier against San Marino.

In South America, Uruguay have a major headache ahead of their qualifier against Argenitina…How to stop Lionel Messi. Uruguay did beat Argentina the quarter finals of the Copa America last year, now they are hoping to do the same in the World Cup.
