PL: New govt will build on gaming industry successes

"We believe in the digital economy and we believe that the gaming industry has a future", declared Labour leader Joseph Muscat during a visit to the Tipico betting company office in Portomaso Business Tower.

Joseph Muscat said that we have to see that our educational system offers more specialized training to be able to perform in this thriving gaming business. Joseph Muscat said that the purpose of the new government is economic growth based on various sectors.

"Economic growth that benefits everyone," said Dr. Muscat.

The Labour leader noted with satisfaction that Tipico company plans to continue operating and growing in our country. The CEO of Tipico, Jan Bolz explained how the company started in 2004 with two employees, and today  it employs more than 200 workers from 16 different countries, with the idea that in the coming months it shall employ more people.

While praising the Maltese workers' commitment, Bolz said the company maintains a good relationship with the University of Malta, MCAST and ETC and wants to add more Maltese workers.

Present for this visit were also the PL spokesmen for Economic Development, Financial Services and Pensions spokesman Charles Mangion and European Affairs and Youth Luciano Busuttil.
