UPDATED:Franco Debono to vote against budget

UPDATED: MP Franco Debono has said this morning that he will be voting against the budget for 2013 when government proposes it in parliament. He said this will be a vote against the oligarchy and in favour of the re-establishment of full democracy in Malta.  He will also move an amendment to the car parks motion to make a vote of no confidence in Minister Austin Gatt.

A vote against the budget is a no-confidence vote in the government and if he loses it Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi will have to call an election.

Debono confirmed this in the House Business Committee in parliament which started to meet at 12.30pm, including the intention to file an amendment to Labour’s Car Parks motion turning it into a no confidence vote in Minister Austin Gatt who wants to privatize 34 car parks.

"I am proud I will be voting against the Government in the Budget," Dr Debono told the House Business Commitee.

Earlier Debono said in his blog with reference to Austin Gatt: “When will this man resign? What other blunders must he commit to be asked by Lawrence ‘DCG’ Gonzi to resign?”

Debono goes on to say: “This country belongs to US ALL Maltese People. This country was once again going to suffer the sheer arrogance of this man.”

In his blog Debono also says: "Does Lawrence ‘DCG’ Gonzi’s yardstick that everyone must shoulder the responsibility of his actions apply only to the small fry or does it also apply to Austin Gatt? I want to know exactly and this country has a right to know what was Austin gatt’s contribution in the political turmoil of the eighties now that we all know what this man is like and how far he is ready to go."

We are all fed up with the Scarlet Pimpernel Franco De Bono. He should resign his Parliamentary seat and force a By-Election for that is his only way out. However he will lose his Pension in so doing, oh dear how sad!

The President had declared he cannot intervene unless things happen in Parliament. Well, that has happened. Should he not discuss things with Gonzi, then, perhaps even with the leader of the opposition? It is clear that an election date should be top of the list.

Franco is the shield of the common man. His views on justice reform should be sought once Labour is re-elected.

so franco has now turned the motion of the car park debate into no confidence vote against gatt so if franco gets his way then franco will vote in favpur of the the budget as his goal would have been reached by doing away with gatt

Naqbel perfettament ma li kiteb Carmel Cilia. Isemmu dak li ġara f'tal-barrani u dik l-anarkija ma tissemmiex. Tajjeb li l-moviment isemmiehom dawn l-affarijiet - la jsemmu l-passat għandna nfakkruhom dawn il-ħniżrijiet, għamilhom min għamilhom
