The Anti-Doping Commission has announced Mr Clayton Failla has been suspended for 4 months for an Anti-Doping Rule Violation.

Mr Clayton Failla returned an adverse analytical finding for Ephedrine in a urine sample provided on  25th June 2012  during  a Euro Cup match between Valletta and Hibernians. This substance is included on the World Anti-Doping Prohibited List 2012 under the  Stimulants (Specified Stimulants) category and is consequently prohibited under the Malta Anti-Doping Rules.

In accordance with national legislation and the WADA Code,  Clayton Failla  will serve a  four month suspension for the offence beginning on  20th July 2012, the day he was provisionally suspended until the case was heard, through to 20th November 2012. All results obtained by Clayton Failla from the date of competition on the 25th June 2012 and onwards will be disqualified including forfeiture of any medals, points and prizes.

Clayton Failla is ineligible to participate in any capacity with any sport organisation registered with the Kunsill Malti għall-Isport until the 20th November 2012.
