Labour won’t work

The PN billboard ‘Labour won’t work’ is almost an exact replica of the poster used by the Conservatives in the U.K. some 33 years ago. However it could also be a description of the Gonzi administration over the last 8 years.

By Labour, the PN could be referring to Labour party supporters. Labour did not work as consultants, as heads of government appointed bodies, neither as normal employees whenever there was a choice between Labour and Nationalist. Labour sympathisers did not work as contractors for public tenders, or almost. In all fairness, this also applies to PN supporters who are not part of the inner clique. President George Abela is possibly the exception that proves the rule.

Labour won’t work as Bus drivers, at the Drydocks, and at AirMalta because despite Gonzi’s guarantees their jobs became redundant. Labour won’t work at Smart City because there is no work. The jobs Gonzi mentioned were just an election gimmick. Labour won’t be eligible for certain promotions or appointments during an election campaign.

Definitely however, Labour won’t work behind Parliament’s back to give its Ministers a weekly increase of € 500. It won’t work behind parliament’s back to circumvent parliamentary procedure.

The truth of the matter is that Labour won’t work the way the Gonzi administration has, especially when it comes to uncontrolled increases in the National debt. And Labour won’t work with outdated and arrogant policies that promote the division that GonziPN has brought about with the people and within his party.

The Labour party will work for a future that will unite the people
