Nature Trust (Malta) invites members of the public to give a helping hand in a clean-up around the Xrobb l-Ghagin Nature Park in the Delimara area on Saturday. The event is being organised in collaboration with the Marsaxlokk Local Council, the Ministry of Resources and Rural Affairs, HSBC, and a number of volunteers, who have offered to give a hand to clean this part of the island that offers beautiful natural scenery.

Some irresponsible people have recently been dumping rubbish in the area; waste is strewn along the road leading to the park and along the coastal zone. The aim is for the clean-up to cover the Tas-Silg area, all the way to the entrance of the Xrobb l-Ghagin park, and if enough volunteers participate, the rubbish at St Paul's Battery in the area will also be tackled.

Nature Trust (Malta) urges anyone who can spare some time to join for the clean-up. A whole skip can be filled in no time at all. Let's end the summer season by cleaning up the beach, while preparing for autumn walks by removing the junk from our country roads.

Gloves and bags will be provided. Participants are urged to wear closed shoes, and to bring plenty of water, sunscreen, and antiseptic gel/wipes. Anyone who would like to go for a swim after the clean-up can do so at the wonderful bay of It-Taqtiegha.
The meeting place will be the entrance to the Xrobb l-Għaġin Nature Park (past Island Sanctuary). Parking spaces will be available inside.
