Maltese Double Trap shooters, William Chetcuti and Nathan Lee Xuereb were both one clay away from qualifing for the barrage finals with the top six after they managed to make it with the best twelve in the world for The ISSF World Cup Final at Maribor.
Both William and Nathan Lee managed 47/50 in their first round, followed by 45/50 in their second round and back to 47/50 each in their third round for 139/150.

Sodhi Ronjan from India won Silver with 144+47=191/200
Aldeehani Fehaid of Kuwait won Bronze with 143+47=190/200
Mosin Vasily from Russia placed 4th with 141+46=187/200
Dahlby Hakan of Sweden placed 5th with 140+s/off+4 + 46=186/200
Leybo Mikhail of Russia placed 6th with 141+40=181/200
Francesco D'Aniello of Italy placed 7th with 140/150
Chetcuti William from Malta placed 8th with 139/150
Xuereb Nathan Lee from Malta placed 9th with 139/150
Di Spignio Daniele of Italy placed 10th with 135/150
Fookev Vitaly of Russia placed 11th with 131/150
Fifteen year old, Nathan Lee Xuereb was the youngest shooter that ever qualified for an ISSF World Cup Final in the history of shooting sports.
The Malta Shooting Sport Federation said it was proud to have two Maltese shooters competing in such a prestigious event. Both Maltese shooters were under the supervision of their coach Jimmy Bugeja.
