
PN candidates have been contacting hotels, restaurants, reception halls to book facilities from the end of this month to the beginning of December for coffee mornings and other activities for their voters for the coming election.
Although no official date has been given, the PN has already started its election campaign. PN candidates are telling their canvassers that they must intensify their personal election campaign as it is being assumed that the coming election will be held in November.
PN canvassers are being told to prepare for an intense campaign of house visits right after the Independence festivities come to an end on 21 September.
Although three different dates are being mentioned: 3, 10 and 24 November 2012, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi has told prospective PN candidates in private conversations that the election will be held by Saturday 24 November. PN candidates who are in the know more than others are booking halls for their personal campaign up to the 6 December 2012.
