The Fgura Local Council is holding a Mural Painting Event in Fgura on Sunday 16th September 2012 from 7.30 am to 1.00 pm. in Council of Europe Square This is the introductory phase of a project aiming at cover unsightly boundary walls with imagery turning them into street works of art.
 
The concept of this event is to bring togther a number of foremost artists and talented students in a collaborative work with the intention of promoting the visual arts as well as presenting to the public an art  scheme in the Centre of the Fgura. Artists Raymond Pitre, Joseph Mallia, Rupert Cefai, Twanny Darmanin, Raymond Darmanin, Alex Dalli, Joseph Barbara and Anthony DeGiovanni have subscribed to the project together with a number of art students.
 
The project will consist of the juxtaposition of an  individual work by each participant dipicting a life-size person of choice to form a collective work dipicting diversity in unity in the community of Fgura. The bus-shelter in situ will form a physical part of the work. The event is a performance of spontaneous painting towhich the general public is invited to assist. The area will be car free .
