Liverpool are believed to have made an offer for Italian legend  Alessandro Del Piero. He is a free agent after ending a 19 year career at  Juventus .

Australian club Sydney are also chasing Del Piero who says he will make an announcement later today at a press conference in Turin.

Michael Owen has signed for premier side Stoke on a free transfer. The former Manchester United and England striker had been linked with a return to Liverpool but Stoke manager Tony Pulis convinced him to join the Potters.
