
21 year old Ryan Stivala from Fgura charged with the attempted murder of the partner and son of his former lover told the police that he did not want to knock them over when on 24 June 2012 he drove onto the parvis in front of the Kalkara Church.
The 28 year old former lover told the police that even though she wanted to end the relationship he continued stalking her and that same day he tried to break into her house.
Stivala is charged with putting his son’s life in danger and with the attempted murder of the partner of his former lover, with threatening her and injuring her slightly and with threatening her relatives, with damaging two cars and with driving recklessly.
The woman had told the police that Stivala used to behave violently with her and used to hurt her by offending her dead father. She had tried to end their relationship but he continued stalking her.
Once she was with their four year old son and he wanted her to take him to her mother’s house so that they would meet and talk but she did not want. On 24 June 2012 he had gone to her house and when she did not want to let him in he tried to break into her house by hitting the main door with a gas cylinder. But he then left without breaking in.
When her partner returned home he told her to file a police report at the Kalkara Police Station. Stivala saw them and while they were on their way he drove towards them.
When the police they arrived they found Stivala injured and he had to be taken to hospital and he denied that he wanted to knock down the partner and his son.
