Are you a budding musician, eager to play with other musicians and willing to take your talents to the next frontier? Are you keen to make sensational music with experienced conductors and guest artists, and to perform in some of the most prestigious venues in Malta?

If you know you have all the above, and are willing to share all the escitement and joy you get from being a musician, why not join the Malta Youth Orchestra? It's an experience like no other, enabling you to develop in character, confidence and musicianship, to take the lead, and make some of the best friends you'll ever meet along the way.

Alongside strong technique, intonation and rhythmic sense, you should have huge energy for making music, an appetite for discovery, an open mind, and a great team spirit. So if you play flute, bassoon, trumpet, horn, violin, viola, cello, double bass or any other orchestral instrument and have a standard equivalent to Grade 7 (ABRSM/Trinity Guildhall/London College of Music) or higher, (although you donate need to have taken any exams) you're eligible to apply.

Rehearsals are held on Saturdays starting at 09:30 hrs at Robert Samut Hall, Floriana. Musicans will have the opportunity to perform in three grand concerts in December, April and the spectacular MPO & MYO concert at Pjazza San Gorg in June, working with the MYO artistic director Joseph Vella and the internationally renowed British conductor Peter Stark. To apply, simply fill in the application from the orchestra web site www.maltaorchestra.com and email to info@maltaorchestra.com, or post to Malta Youth Orchestra Application Form, 88 Old Mint street, Valletta. Shortlisted candidates will be required to sit for an audition.

Closing date for applications is Friday 7th September 2012.
