Three first half goals helped Hibernian’s to their opening match win against Mosta but they had to survive a shaky second half which saw Mosta strike twice to leave Hib’s with a nervous final fifteen minutes.

A goal from Pisani and Dias, who was voted man of the match and scored two of Hibernian’s goals, seemed to have set the FA Trophy holders on their way to a comfortable win but Mosta rallied with second half goals from Caruana and Mitev to set up a tense last period.

B’Kara enjoyed their first game of the new  season with a 4-0 win over new comers Melita with Brazilian striker Joselito dos Reis scoring twice.

Everton caused the first major upset of the new premier season with s deserved 1-0 home victory against Manchester United.

The hero for Everton was Belgian international Fellaini who tormented United all evening and it was his header that sent Goodison into a frenzy of blue.

The outcome could have been even worse for Utd but for a string of outstanding saves from Davis de Gea.
It certainly was not the start that Sir Alex Ferguson had been wishing for.

There is plenty of action tonight with Champions League and Championship football.

Andre Schembri has signed a two year deal with Cypriot club Omonia Nicosia who have won twenty domestic league titles and this year reached the third round of the Europa League.
