41 year old Christopher Agius from Floriana has been sent to eight years in jail after pleading guilty to having possessed and trafficked heroin for the last five years. He admitted to have trafficked heroin near a school and a centre where young people meet.

The police said that Agius has a serious drug problem and suggested that he carries out his term at the Forensic Section of Mount Carmel to rehabilitate himself and not at Corradino Corrective Facility.

He was also fined €5,000.
