
Another win for Malta
Malta maintained their winning run with a solid 3-2 victory in a friendly international against San Marino.
Malta fell behind to an early strike by San Marino but two quick goals from Michael Mifsud and Andre Agius put Malta back in control.
Mifsud got his second late in the game to give Malta a comfortable lead and although the hosts scored from the penalty spot with only minutes remaining, Malta deserved their win and gave coach Pietro Ghedin his second successive win since he took over the national team.
There was an equally impressive win for the U/21 side who dominated Liechtenstein in a friendly at the Hiberian’s stadium.
Ray Farrugia’s side romped to a 4-1 win, a good boost ahead of their UEFA U/21 .qualifier against Ukraine next month.
