A man and a police constable are being treated at Mater Dei Hospital after they were hurt in an incident on Sunday morning. The police were called to Zabbar because of the aggressive behaviour of a 57 year old man armed with two knives.
The police tried to calm him down and get him out of his residence peacefully but he became more aggressive.
The police tried to enter his house through the balcony but the man attacked them again, this time with five knives. The police had to use the taser gun on him to control him.
A policeman had to jump a storey high and suffered slight inuries to avoid being hurt by the armed man and he was taken to hospital for treatment.
The 57 year old man also had to be taken to hospital to be treated for serious injuries.
