[WATCH]: Power cuts - Fenech should be held to account

The Forum of Maltese Unions (ForUM) said on Saturday that many families, elderly persons and businesses are suffering because of the frequent power cuts around the Maltese Islands. “People are fed up of being treated as if they are living in a third world country.

ForUM said that many families have to throw away food that goes bad, sick and elderly are not able to cool where they are living while ST Micro-electronics loses thousands of euros because it has to stop production. No one is being held to account because of these cuts.”

ForUM said that Enemalta is not being convincing when it tries to explain why there are these frequent cuts. It is very disturbing that another power station was built and not enough power is being generated to meet the demand.

ForUM said that these power cuts are hitting badly the tourism industry and Minister Tonio Fenech, responsible for Enemalta, should be held to account.

ForUM paid tribute to Enemalta employees do their best day and night to reduce the hardship suffered by the people because of these power cuts.

I'm sure the Labour Party is to blame. That's what you take out of 25 years of PN maladministration. An obsolete second hand monstruosity at Marsa which should have been decomissioned ages ago still pumping, a NEW/old Delimara plant which is not able to meet demand inspite of its polluting exhaust gases, and now also CABLES which are ROTTING. Qas tisthu tidhru barra!!
