The lifeless body of an 84-year-old woman from St Paul’s Bay was noticed by bathers floating face down in Għadira Bay, Mellieħa on Thursday afternoon, police said.
Despite the life guards- prompt assitance giving her CPR, the woman was certified dead on location.
A magisterial inquiry is underway.
Police investigations are ongoing.
