The golden man of British cycling, Sir Chris Hoy claimed his sixth Olympic gold with victory in the Kerin final.
The veledrome saw another gold for Team GB as Laura Trott won the ladies omnium.

Algeria’s Taoufik Makhloufi left the opposition far behind as he stormed to victory in the men’s 1500m.

Earlier in the week he had been disqualified from the games after officials ruled he did not try hard enough in an 800m semi-final but he was later re-instated.
