Jamica’s Usain Bolt stormed to gold in the men’s 100m, retaining his Olympic title from Beiging 2008.
His training partner Yohan Blake took silver with the bronze going to America’s Justin Gatlin.
Andy Murray clinched gold in the men’s tennis final with a devastating display against the man who beat him in the Wimbledon final, Roger Federer.

There was another gold for Team GB in sailing and silver medals in gymnastics, tennis and the women’s 400.
It was not such a good time for Britain’s footballer with the men’s team knocked out with a quarter final defeat to South Korea on penalties.

Football

The Scottish Premier kicked off on Saturday with defending champions Celtic narrowly winning 1-0 against Aberdeen.

Dundee United are top thanks to a 3-0 win over Hibernian.

Valletta got their season off to a fine start with a 3-1 victory against Hibernian’s in Super Cup, the third successive win for City.
