With a sword of Damocles hanging over his head, the Nationalist backbencher MP Franco Debono keeps on crossing swords with GonziPN 'Chief Priests' as he calls Austin Gatt. In his blog he asks rhetorically whether the party is being renewed or destroyed as new faces emerge in the Nationalist Party candidacy scene.
Using his pen as a sword, in his blog Debono said that when he was elected back in 2008, being a new face himself, he found an 'Iron Curtain' when he tried to change things with valid ideas. He lambasted GonziPN and accused them of being a party of "Chief Priests holding new candidates as their bait" adding that for GonziPN "candidates are disposable".
Attacking the new PN candidate lawyer Therese Comodini Cachia, Debono said it took him "ten precious years of his life to get elected and expect to be listened to and try to reform".
Rather provokingly he wrote: "If you have just discovered you like politics at 40, was never before involved in politics, and the only thing you’ ve done is being approved candidate, besides sending some vindictive message to the victim by mistake, and you think you are going to renew the party, then you suffer from megalomania and egocentrism bordering on delusions, you should seek psychiatric care".
