The Malta Employers’ Association (MEA) expressed its concerns about frequent power cuts that are having a negative effect on businesses. The Association said that recurrent and unpredictable disruptions in electricity is disrupting production and adding to the already high energy costs of many companies.

MEA called on government to take measures to ensure a smooth energy supply through short term measures at Enemalta and more importantly through an energy policy which will cater for long term demand for energy.
