The Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association is organising a one day tour for front-liners working in
the hospitality industry. The programme is open throughout the whole year and the scope is to
create an awareness campaign amongst front-liners working directly with tourists of the Maltese
heritage riches.
The programme involves a tour of Malta on land with an open-top bus and around the harbours
with a harbour cruise boat.
Mr Tony Zahra MHRA president said, "MHRA is offering this service to its members free of charge
because we believe that this is a sound investment in the industry which generates 30% of GDP."
Mr Zahra also thanked the Ministry for Justice, Dialogue and the Family as the idea for this project
emanated during one of the consultation meetings held between the Ministry and MHRA as a NGO;
and City Sightseeing Malta and Captain Morgan Cruises for supporting and helping to realise this
programme.
Mr Michael Zammit Tabona, Managing Director of Fortel Group of Companies stated that, "Malta
has a lot to offer and we are pleased to support MHRA in realising such programmes to enhance the
skills of front-liners in the hospitality industry and hence the overall quality of the Maltese tourism
product."
MHRA aims to start having this service offered as a standard service to the industry.
