Gonzi on 101:Cachia Caruana victim of a frame-up

An interview on PN’s radio station 101 said that the accusations against Richard Cachia Caruana are a frame-up. At the same time he does not know what the witnesses are going to say on Tuesday when the PN’s Executive Committee meets to discuss the request to the PN of MP Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando to expel Cachia Caruana. He also accused Pullicino Orlando of not sticking to the agreed procedures. Gonzi also said he is shocked by the declarations of Labour MPs Karmenu Vella and Joe Mizzi on Richard Cachia Caruana. Both of them have been named by Pullicino Orlando as witnesses in his case on Cachia Caruana.

Gonzi dismissed rumours that an election is round the corner and referred to the new candidates approved by the PN last Thursday as being persons who have the party at heart and do not put their personal ambitions first. He said there will be other new candidates on the PN ticket for the coming election. He said PN candidates should use the party internal systems and structures.

He said he cannot accept the fact that after being given all the necessary space to express themselves three MPs did not follow the party line when they were not given a free vote on the motions calling for the resignation of Carm Mifsud Bonnici from Home Affairs Minister and Richard Cachia Caruana from Malta’s EU Permanent Representative.

All Malta is shocked by the PN's attempt to silence it's legitimate critics, even those on the inside! This is the result of a very inadequate CEO, Gonz! Call an election and let the people speak. You should have allowed the "3" to stand for election and let the citizens decide. This way you just showed your weakness for an early exit. The longer the wait the larger the fall.

This seems like a group of gathered people looking at the sun. They all agree that the sun is red and looks yellow but one of them insists that the sun is green and looks green. He even stamps his feet and insist on his statement.
This a frame-up. That's what we are told and that's what will result since some important people insisting the sun is green says so.
