Government wants parliament to meet again on Monday 1, October 2012 after it goes into its summer recess tomorrow on 11 July 2012. Government wants to show that it is weathering the internal strife within the PN.
The strategy group of the PN is very concerned that the PN has been losing voter support since January and wants the party not to call an early election unless it is forced to by having a government MP voting with the Opposition on a money bill or the budget.
Government is planning to present its Budget for 2013 and will propose it as its tangible platform for the coming election.
Government will only present its budget if it is sure that none of the three MPs will vote against the budget. This will dictate the action to be taken by the PN Executive Committee against Franco Debono, Jesmond Mugliett and Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando as they cannot afford to lose the support of even one of them when it comes to the Budget vote.

- Tue 10-Jul-2012, 23:44The house, talked about all details on how to catch the odd vote, but little did that say about the shops who are within the distance of 50 metres of a polling place. These shop owners are loosing a days earnings every time an election happens. Some form of compension is well desired for these people, after all it's not their fault if the shop is close to a voting place.

This could be a ploy so that the PL will take it easy during the summer recess. But this time round these dirty tricks will not work.
GonziPN cannot hatch a good budget. It can only make false promises to try and gain some lost ground.
The PL will remain focused, close to the people and when the time comes will publish its electoral programme that will take the country forward and out of the mess created by GonziPN.
