On Saturday morning Aldo Busuttil gave the 10,000th blood donation on the Mobile Blood Donation Unit since this was extensively refurbished in 2009. Busuttil is a regular donor and since 1998 has donated blood 26 times.
The Mobile Unit was back on the road on the 2 February 2009 and has since been used 684 times, approximately three to four times a week. The fact that the Unit was available within the community made it easier for donors to actually find time and donate in a location comfortable to them.
