It was not a good night for Maltese clubs in Europe.

Floriana and Hibernian’s lost their first round first leg qualifiers but B’Kara did manage a creditable 2-2 draw against Metalburg of Macedonia to keep alive their chances of reaching the next round.

After leading 2-1, Hibernian’s went down 5-2 to Sarajevo after playing most of the second half with ten man.

Floriana suffered the heaviest defeat losing 8-0 to Swedish club IF Elfsburg.

Tennis

Serena Williams is through to the Ladies final at Wimbledon after a straight sets win against Victoria Azarenka.

Serena will face Agnieska Radwanska of Poland who defeated Germany’s Angelique Kerber

Andy Murray is aiming to be the first British player to reach a Wimbledon final in 74 years when he takes on Frenchman Jo Wilfried-Tsonga today.
